Our TransPennine Kitchen - Coast to Coast First Class menu gives customers a flavour filled journey inspired by the stunning journey between Liverpool and Newcastle. Expect hearty favourites, indulgent treats and lighter options - all crafted from locally sourced ingredients. 

What's on the menu?

Our TransPennine Kitchen - Coast to Coast Festive menu is built around flavour, variety and freshness. Depending on the time of your journey, you'll find the following options: 

• Breakfast options from hot buttered crumpets and regional breakfast through to a pigs in blankets brioche bun and a festive belgian waffle, complete with apple and cranberry compote. 
• Hot dishes include Turkey Meatballs, served with garlic mashed potatoes, brussles and a cranberry gravy and our Holiday Nutless Roast option - whichever your preference you can enjoy the festive favourites on board!   
• Lighter options to choose from including our Festive Roll made by The Original Baker in Malton or our Festive Regional Cheeseboard. 
• Sweet treats from locally baked biscuits and farmhouse sponge cakes, perfect with an afternoon tea or coffee. 

Alongside our food options, you'll be able to enjoy a full drinks range from freshly brewed tea and coffee, soft drinks, juices and alcoholic options served after 11am, including our Northern Monk TransPennine Pale Ale, brewed by Leeds based brewery, Northern Monk, specially for TransPennine Express.

We work closely with farmers, bakers, brewers and makers in the regions we serve. By using ingredients sourced in the North of England and Scotland, we reduce food miles while supporting those businesses closest to us. This ensures our meals on board are not only delicious but are rooted in the places you'll see through the train window! 

Important information

Our catering service typically runs Monday-Friday: 07:00-18:30 and Saturday-Sunday 09:00-18:30. We do aim to offer the full advertised menu but the availability may occasionally vary. 

All our pre-packaged items display allergen information on the wrappers and/or cans. Hot dishes are covered by our allergen matrix, with full ingredient breakdowns. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are also available.
