Our Express Plus menu brings you delicious refreshments to elevate your journey whether you're catching an early train or winding down at the end of the day.

What's available onboard?

If you're travelling between Newcastle and Edinburgh, you can now enjoy an enhanced Express Plus catering offer with complimentary hot food and drinks throughout the journey. 

For customers traveling on all other services you'll be able to enjoy a carefully curated selection designed to satisfy every moment of your trip including: 

• Warm beverages from freshly brewed tea, coffee, or indulge with our hot chocolate.
• Cold refreshments with a range of soft drinks and juices to keep you hydrated.
• A variety of packaged light snacks to nibble on the move.
• Alcoholic choices served from 11am daily with options from wine or craft beer.

We work closely with famers, bakers, brewers and makers in the regions we serve. By using ingredients sourced in the North of England and Scotland, we reduce food miles while supporting those businesses closest to us. This ensures our meals on board are not only delicious but are rooted in the places you'll see through the train window!

Important information

Our catering service typically runs Monday-Friday: 07:00-18:30 and Saturday-Sunday 09:00-18:30. 

We do aim to deliver every advertised item but, occasionally, operational factors may affect availability. All our pre-packaged items display allergen information on the wrappers and/or cans. Hot dishes are covered by our allergen matrix, with full ingredient breakdowns. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are also available. 

Do you have a severe allergy? Please contact us in advance via social media, WhatsApp or our Customer Contact Centre and we'll do everything we can to make your journey as comfortable as possible.
